Special / Sale Price - Old Wave A-5Beasty Blonde
More Details
.
Another first for MandoMutt, an Old Wave mandolin, handcrafted by Mr. Bill Bussmann in Caballo, New Mexico. This is a recent model, s/n 436 and it's making a fine impression on our mandolin loving, flat nosed pooch, MandoMutt herself! We've not been able to pry it away from her since the mail man dropped it off!!!
Here's the the specs; Colorado Engelmann Spruce top in a blonde gloss finish and Illinois Black Walnut back/sides/neck in a natural gloss, Arizona Sycamore bindings top/back and Curly Walnut pick guard and headstock veneer.
Other appointments include; radiused Desert Ironwood fretboard, tone bar bracing, nickel Golden Age tuning gears and an adjustable Ebony bridge.
If you're in the market and a fan of the "deep woody", pay close attention, `cause this mandolins definitely got the deep woodies in spades. Throaty sounding, but not harsh. Very responsive. Provides a thunderous chop as well.
This is a very clean instrument with only the lightest playwear. Top looks new with the exception of a little tarnish on the tailpiece cover. Back has one light finish scratch and frets have the barest beginnings of wear. We'll call her Near Mint condition overall.
Includes a gold tweed TKL hard shell case. Trades considered and encouraged.
