This epic gem, s/n 95, features; Adirondack Spruce top,flamed Red Maple back/sides/neck in a traditional sunburst varnish finish, side bound, radiused Ebony fretboard, engraved James tailpiece and silver Waverly tuning gears with pearl knobs. An elegant Abalone torch inlay rounds out the goodies.

Folks, this instrument is the complete package and I mean that. We've always been big fans of Ben's work, but the last two we've had have been extra strong sounding mandolins.

This mandolin features an articulate voice, woody and quite powerful. The only knock we've had with BRW's in the past has been volume, but this mandolin is a Monster. Also features a perfect setup. I've enjoyed playing this mandolin as much as any we have right now, in fact I'm seriously thinking about keeping it and selling my Gibson. Stay tuned!!!

This is a demo instrument, out on loan for the past year and is offered here as a new instrument. No flaws, blemishes or issues. Great choice for bluegrass, but certainly a versatile instrument that will shine in just about any genre.

Mighty strong F-5 from one of the most underrated builders in America, Chris Baird. This is a fine bluegrass mandolin featuring; Adirondack Spruce top, highly flamed maple back/sides/neck in a traditional sunburst, hybrid varnish finish, fully bound, radiused Ebony fretboard, M.O.P. flowerpot headstock inlay, James tailpiece engraved with "Arches" and so forth.

Very impressive instrument with excellent fit and finish and a bold rich tone, outstanding volume, powerful mid-range and a chunky bluegrass "chop".

Excellent-plus overall condition. Previous owner had installed a pick-up which has since been removed. There's a tiny mounting hole on the side near lower point. One ding near scroll. Recent partial fret replacement and dressing and pro set-up.

Overall, this is an exceptional, well built, professional mandolin and a bargain at this price. Compares favorably with mandolins costing 2 to 3 times our asking price. Finest mandolin in it's price class!

Just picked this one up from Skip today and it's so impressive. Here's what Skip says about this instrument; "We A/B'd this mandolin with my friends 1927 Fern and we couldn't tell the difference between the two". Skip went on to say "I may never build another mandolin that sounds as good as this one".

Specs: 50+ year old Adirondack Spruce top, Big Leaf Maple back/sides/neck in a varnished, antique style reddish sunburst, three-ply (w/b/i) bindings on top and. Single ivoroid bound fretboard and headstock. Flat Ebony fretboard, engraved James tailpiece and Gotoh tuning machines with pearl knobs. Headstock features an Abalone and black pearl flowerpot inlay.

Incredible, Beyond Beast type sound features a bold, rich and full tone. Quite powerful as well with a huge bluegrass chop. Has the "woof" that will rattle the shutters. Banjo and Martin pickers will hate to see you coming. So strong that it can suck the air right out of your lungs.

Outstanding fit and finish on this, Skip's 31st mandolin. Label was signed Christmas day of 2010, so it's technically a 2010, but Skip's been playing this one regularly since it's completion, so we could call it a 2011.

It's a new instrument, for all intents and purposes and is offered with full, lifetime of the builder limited warranty and a Superior fiberglass case, red exterior, silver interior.

Picked this ol' gal up in a recent trade with a frequent customer that got it from us a couple years ago. Before that time she was owned by the same fellow that bought her new in 1967. She's had a good life and taken care of well for 33 years.

Super clean condition without much worth mentioning from a play wear standpoint. Has one healthy 1/2" ding on back and some feint pick marks and tiny pings on the top. Also has a smallish ding on back of headstock.

Bone nut and saddle appear to be recent replacements. No bridge lifting. Action is medium, plays easy. Approximately 1/8" of saddle showing above the Brazilian Rosewood bridge. Has original Maple bridge plate. Fret's are in excellent shape. No work needed. Original Gover "Rotomatic" tuning machines are in fine working condition. Pickguard appears to be a replacement. Case is recent replacement.

This is an outstanding sounding Martin `HOG'. Has a warm, woody, vintage voice. Absolutely delightful instrument to play.

This little monster is one of Skip's best F-5's, particularly from a sound perspective. Built in 2006, s/n 18 was his personal mandolin for over a year. Skip used #18 exclusively on the Skip and Ed recording "Little Green Valley". #18 features a European Spruce top, highly figured Maple back/sides/neck in a traditional sunburst matte varnish finish. Body is triple bound, single ply bindings on fretboard and headstock. Flat Ebony fretboard with 1-1/16" nut width, Gotoh tuning gears with pearl knobs and Abalone flower pot headstock inlay.

If you were to look up "bluegrass hoss" in the dictionary, a photo of this mandolin would be there. This instrument is the ultimate "jam" mando. You'll have no trouble cutting through the mix and will easily be heard, noticed and even feared by all the big bad Martin rosewoods and obnoxious 5-string banjers. Woody, dry and loud with a beasty bluegrass chop.

Overall condition is excellent plus with a few light surface scratches, a couple string scratches on the headstock and medium fret wear. Fret's still have plenty of life.

A great choice for stage or parking lot pickin', this mandolin will command attention in any setting. Includes Travelite case. Trades encouraged.

A phenomenal guitar featuring; Adirondack Spruce top with Herringbone inlay, Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, scalloped forward shifted Adirondack Spruce bracing, HD Zig-Zag back purfling, Ebony fretboard with Abalone diamonds and squares inlays, Ebony bridge, 1-11/16" nut width, modified `V' neck, vintage style tuning gears with butterbean knobs and Bone "drop-in" saddle.

This Custom Shop Martin is definitely not your run-of-the-mill Martin rosewood dread. Rates as a bone crushing banjo buster. Provides a rich, warm and woody tone with complex overtones. While fitting the bill as a bluegrass boomer, she also provides significantly more clarity in the mid's and highs than any Martin production model and easily the best sounding modern Martin that we've had.

New condition. No issues whatsoever. Looks new, smells new. Includes Martin "Geib" style case. Trades encouraged.

Built in Colorado by Robb Brophy, Elkhorn mandolins are now part of the MandoMutt family and already a MandoMutt favorite. We've got some remarkable mandolins right now and this one ranks right up there.

Robb calls this instrument, s/n 24, his "Vintage F-5" and it features; Straight and narrow grained Adirondack Spruce top, Eastern Hard Maple back/sides/neck in a dark sunburst, hand rubbed Spirit Varnish satin finish, 3-ply bindings throughout, radiused Ebony fretboard (no position marks) and Cumberland Acoustics adjustable bridge.

Other appointments include; engraved James tailpiece, bone point protectors, nickel Waverly tuning gears with Ebony knobs and Abalone hybrid Flowerpot/Fern headstock inlay.

Robb's "Vintage F-5" definitely has a vintage look and feel, but more importantly #24 sounds "vintage". Tone is very dry with "pop", in fact it's so dry that it's got "snap, crackle and pop". Excellent volume and provides an outstanding chop. A great choice for bluegrass.

This mandolin was a "demo" model, but still offered as new with a reduced price. Has some minor wear and makers marks, but still in fantastic condition. Looks, feels and sounds incredible. Includes shaped tweed "Canadian" case. Trades welcome.

Phenomenal twelve year old Collings acoustic guitar featuring a nicely seasoned Sitka Spruce top with Herringbone trim, striking East Indian Rosewood back & sides, Mahogany neck and a gorgeous Rosewood headstock veneer that has that BRW look.

Other appointments include; Ivoroid bindings top and back, vintage style Waverly tuning machines with butterbean knobs. 1-3/4" nut width. M.O.P. diamonds and squares Inlays on an Ebony fretboard and bridge.

This Collings is a Hoss, no doubt. Has been played (not abused) and has an exquisite tone. Very balanced with a warm, woody tone and big volume.

Excellent condition cosmetically. Does show a few scratches, most notably a 1/2" finish scratch on the lower bout which can be seen in photos. Light pick scratches above and below sound hole and some scuffs and marks here and there. Frets show medium wear, but no work required for quite some time yet.

Overall, a delightful sounding guitar that is pleasing to the eye and a pleasure to play. Includes original plush Geib style Collings case with vintage green interior. Trades gladly considered on this fine Collings guitar.

New mandolin and our first at the mutt, s/n 28 from Robb Brophy out of Durango Colorado. Folks, make no bones about it, this fella builds a fantastic mandolin. This instrument is well built, has a fine fit and finish and a killer sound.

Also fully loaded. Here's the goods; Adirondack Spruce top, Big Leaf Maple one piece back, sides/neck, dark sunburst (think Ellis!) oil varnished finish with 3-ply bindings all over.

Also features bone point protectors, engraved James tailpiece, radiused Ebony fretboard, Ebony C.A. bridge and abbreviated pickguard and silver Waverly tuning gears with pearl knobs. Topped off with an Abalone truss rod cover and Fern headstock inlay.

Has a powerful, wide open sound, rich and warm with complex overtones. Strong bluegrass chop. This mandolin will not not disappoint on stage, in the studio or at the local jam. Compares favorably with Ellis F-5, but more powerful.
